Survey sample and technology firm WiseSample has opened an office in Singapore, adding to the firm\’s existing network in the US, Canada and India. Launched in 2013 by former Toluna exec Gaurav Agarwal, WiseSample uses a combination of web analytics – including Webtrends, Core Metrics and Google Analytics – and behavioural analysis including ethnographic technique \’Netnografi\’, to understand consumers\’ online and social media behavior. The Singapore office will be run by Lim Soh, who has been appointed as Director.
WPP’s Data Alliance is expanding into Indonesia to meet growing demand from local agencies and clients to leverage data, with a focus on social, e-commerce and mobile. The business in Indonesia will be led by Country Head Wijaya Santoso, who joins with more than eighteen years\’ experience in mobile, technology and marketing operations gained at dunnhumby firm Sociomantic Labs, XL Axiata, Affle, and the Interactive Hub, as well as running his own mobile ad company Mezzo Media.

Leading provider of global Business Process Management (BPM) services, WNS, has announced the acquisition of Value Edge Research, a leading provider of commercial research and analytics services to clients in the Pharma / Biopharma industry. The firm\’s staff of 100 people in India, the US and Europe will join WNS, whose BPM services include finance and accounting, customer care, technology solutions, research and analytics, and industry specific back office and front office processes.
Nielsen has announced the acquisition of Mumbai, India-based mobile usage measurement specialist Informate Mobile Intelligence, previously part of the Cross-Tab Group of companies. As the world leader in providing insights to understand consumer behaviour and Total Audience measurement, the acquisition of Informate Mobile Intelligence will help Nielsen enhance its measurement portfolio in the mobile space in key markets across Europe, Asia-Pacific, Latin America and Africa.
Global panel marketplace provider Cint has promoted Richard Thornton to the position of Deputy Chief Executive Officer. Thornton joined Cint as MD in 2009 to set up its UK operations, moved into the role of Global Sales and Operations Director, and then Chief Commercial Officer. Before this, he spent five years at Ciao Surveys (previously Greenfield Online), latterly as MD responsible for sales.
Online video analytics specialist Innovid has appointed Carolyn Bollaci as Managing Director of APAC, to help support the company\’s continued growth throughout Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia, India and China. Bollaci joins Innovid from the ad management company, Sizmek, where she served as regional vice president, ANZ for nearly seven years.
Full service agency Morpace Inc. has promoted Bryan Krulikowski, Vice President of Automotive Diversified and Morpace Asia Pacific, to the role of Senior Vice President. Krulikowski joined Morpace as Vice President in 2007. In his new role, Krulikowski will maintain his leadership responsibilities in one of the Automotive Research teams, while continuing to grow the Morpace Asia Pacific office.
Digital data collection specialist Research Now has announced the appointment of Gary Laben as the new Chief Executive Officer, replacing Kurt Knapton who resigned last October. Laben brings over 25 years of executive leadership and industry experience in using data to power marketing decisions for clients, most recently serving as Chief Executive Officer of KBM Group and as Global Chief Data Officer of Wunderman. Meanwhile, John Rothwell, the company’s Chief Operating Officer has been appointed President and Chief Operating Officer. Rothwell, the first employee of Research Now, returned to the company four years ago and now leads the company’s market-facing functions.
Consumer research specialist 2CV has appointed Andrew Lam to lead its quantitative research in North Asia. With offices in London, San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York and Singapore, 2CV provides both qual and quant consumer research. Lam, who will be based in Hong Kong, joins from CSG where he worked for more than two years, recently as Research Director.
Nielsen has announced the promotion of Megan Clarken to a newly created role as President of Product Leadership. Clarken will lead Nielsen’s global Marketing Effectiveness Practice and Watch Products and will report to Steve Hasker, Chief Operating Officer. Clarken joined the company in 2004, and since then she has held numerous exec positions, including MD of Media Client Services in APMEA, and MD of Nielsen\’s digital businesses in both Asia Pacific and Australia.
